Feature family film Angel by director Dennis Bots released

On Sunday the 2nd of August, Angel had a festive premiere at VUE Hilversum, under the watchful eye of the cast and crew. From Wednesday the 5th of August, the family film will also be screened in cinemas in the rest of The Netherlands. Angel is the film adaptation of the children’s book by actress Isa Hoes and her daughter Vlinder Kamerling. Leading roles are played by Liz Vergeer, Barry Atsma, Isa Hoes and Kees Hulst.

Angel is about an insecure girl who finds it hard to say no and likes to be at home. She does have a special gift: she can fulfill wishes, but only those of good people. Soon there are bad guys lurking who want to abuse her gift. With all the dire consequences that entails.

Good reviews poured in from KidsWeek, De Volkskrant and Het Parool. The film has not gone unnoticed abroad, the rights of Angel have already been sold to Germany and Italy. Angel also competes in the battle for a Golden Calf during the Netherlands Film Festival, which takes place from September 25 to October 3 in Utrecht. The nominations will be announced on Monday, September 2.
