Sabri Saad El Hamus (OOGAPPELS, PLEIDOOI, LEVENSLIED) and Beppie Melissen (KAPSALON ROMY, GOOISCHE VROUWEN, FAMILIE KRUYS) will play the leading roles in the feature film ROCCO & SJUUL. The shooting of the film started last Monday September the 26th. There are various locations in Rotterdam, The Hague/Scheveningen, Noordwijk and Egmond aan Zee. Other roles are played by Nazmiye Oral, Anniek Pheifer, Johanna Hagen and Mamoun Elyounoussi. Jules Croiset and Ingeborg Elzevier will also feature in the film.
ROCCO & SJUUL is directed by Anna van der Heide (DIRTY LINES, DE LIEFHEBBERS, MEESTER KIKKER). The screenplay was written by Tamara Bos (KAPSALON ROMY, PAPADAG, ANNIE MG) and actress/playwright Esther Scheldwacht. The film is produced by Phanta Film (MI VIDA) and BosBros (KAPSALON ROMY) in co-production with Omroep MAX, with support from the Netherlands Film Fund, the Netherlands Film Production Incentive and the CoBO Fund.
Paradiso Filmed Entertainment is responsible for the film distribution of ROCCO & SJUUL, which will be released in Dutch cinemas in November of 2023.
