Pim & Pom dive in the world of art

The two curious cats Pim & Pom go on a journey of discovery in various Dutch museums. Their Wife goes to drawing lessons, Pim & Pom secretly follow her and are thus introduced to a new work of art every episode. Toddlers and preschoolers are playfully challenged to view the works of grand masters such as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Gogh. The fantasy of Pim and Pom takes them on an adventure in the world of the arts. The animated series Pim & Pom at the museum can be seen on Dutch television every school day from Monday 6th of December 2021.

Every episode a different work of art from a Dutch museum forms the backdrop for their journey of discovery. Not only famous Dutch artists, but also foreign masters such as Seurat, Renoir and Malevich are discussed. Pim & Pom go in search of the lost pearl of ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ by Johannes Vermeer, dance the cancan in Seurat’s painting and help Rembrandt create order in the chaos of all those gunmen in ‘The Night Watch’. In ‘Victory Boogie Woogie’ by Piet Mondriaan they experience a great adventure, in which all those colored blocks come to life.

Pim is a daredevil, who enthusiastically throws himself into every adventure. Pom is sensible and a little more timid. Sometimes they disagree. As a result, they each experience the adventure in their own way. But in the end they are always the best of friends.

The animation series is based on the drawings by Fiep Westendorp and the characters by Mies Bouhuys. The screenplays were written by Fiona van Heemstra and Tingue Dongelmans. Georgina Verbaan gives all characters their own voice and the direction is in the hands of Gioia Smid. Pim & Pom at the Museum is a Phanta Animation production.
